XII Congreso/Sesión de Trabajo sobre las Relaciones entre las Humanidades y las Ciencias en el Mundo Hispánico. Madrid, España. 18-22 de junio de 2012
Esta será una
diversa Sesión de Trabajo, por lo tanto se invitan contribuciones sobre
cualquier aspecto de las relaciones entre las humanidades y las ciencias en el
mundo hispánico. Favor de enviar resúmenes detallados o, preferiblemente,
trabajos completos (escritos en inglés, en español o en portugués) al Dr. Kevin
Larsen, Dept. of Modern and Classical Languages #3603, University of Wyoming,
Laramie , WY 82071-3603 EEUU o klarsen@uwyo.edu antes del 15 de marzo de 2012.
Los trabajos son
distribuidos con antelación para ser estudiados por todos los participantes y
luego se comentan con el autor. Cada

La sede del
congreo, el Instituto Submarino (c/Juan Bautista Sachetti) se halla al lado de
la estación de Atocha en el centro de Madrid, a medio kilómetro del Museo del
Prado. Hay una gama de hoteles y hostales, además de muchos restaurantes y bares
a unos pasos del Submarino. Como parte del Congreso, habrá la oportunidad de
visitar el Ateneo, el Instituto Cajal y el CSIC.

Madrid 2012
Conference/Working Session XII on the
Relations Between the Humanities and the Sciences in
the Hispanic World. Madrid,
Spain. 18-22 June 2012
This will be a diverse Working Conference, so papers on any aspect of the relations of the humanities and science in the Hispanic world are invited. Please send detailed abstracts or, preferably, completed papers (written in English, Spanish, or Portuguese) to Dr. Kevin Larsen, Dept. of Modern and Classical Languages #3603, University of Wyoming , Laramie , WY 82071-3603 , USA , or klarsen@uwyo.edu by 15 March 2012.
Authors are encouraged to take chances and to explore new possibilities without sacrificing the rigor and standards of their disciplines. The papers will be disseminated before the conference, and each presenter will have 30-40 minutes to explain their ideas, followed by 20-30 minutes of Q&A with the audience.
Previous Working Conferences have been held in the USA, in Santa Fe , New Mexico, in New Brunswick , New Jersey , St. Petersburg, Florida, Laramie, Wyoming, and in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico; in Puebla and in Mexico City , Mexico ; in San Ramón , Costa Rica ; in Buenos Aires and Pinamar , Argentina ; in Cumaná, Venezuela.

The conference site, El Instituto Submarino (Juan Bautista Sachetti street), is located next to the Atocha train/metro station in downtown Madrid, a few hundred yards from the Prado Museum. There is a wide range of hotels and hostals, as well as numerous restaurants and bars within walking distance. As part of the Conference, there will be opportunities to visit the Ateneo (Literary Society), the Cajal Institute and the campus of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas.
